Standing In The Gap #2

Men of Intercession: A Call to Stand in the Gap

Isaiah 59:16 (NKJV) “He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore, His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own
righteousness, it sustained Him.”

In Isaiah 59:16, we see a poignant reflection on the shortage of intercessors
– those who are willing to stand in the gap, to pray for others and intercede on
behalf of those in need. This verse reminds us of the vital role that men and
women of intercession play in God’s redemptive plan.

Intercessors in Today’s World:
Just as God sought an intercessor in Isaiah’s time, there is a pressing need
for intercessors in today’s world. The brokenness, pain, and suffering we witness
call for individuals willing to stand in the gap and intercede for others. This is not
limited to any specific gender; both men and women are called to this important
task.

The Power of Intercession:
Intercession is a powerful act of love and compassion. It involves lifting up
the needs of others in prayer, seeking God’s intervention in their lives. As men and
women of intercession, we have the privilege of partnering with God in bringing
healing, comfort, and salvation to those who are in despair.

Acting as Ambassadors of Christ:
By becoming intercessors, we take on the role of ambassadors of Christ on
Earth. We represent God’s love, grace, and mercy in a world filled with darkness
and despair. Our prayers are a channel through which God’s salvation and
righteousness can be made manifest.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging
Your wisdom and love. We are humbled by the understanding that You seek
intercessors to stand in the gap for a hurting world. Today, we commit ourselves to
this noble task.

Lord, make us men and women of intercession, willing to pray for those in
need, to be vessels of Your love, and to partner with You in Your redemptive work.
May Your own arm bring salvation to those we lift in prayer, and may Your
righteousness sustain them.

We pray for the broken, the lost, and the hurting. May our intercession be a
source of hope, healing, and transformation in their lives. Equip us with Your
strength, wisdom, and compassion to fulfill this calling.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

As we take on the role of intercessors, let us remember that God’s arm
will bring salvation, and His righteousness will sustain those for whom we
intercede. May this verse inspire us to be men and women of intercession,
standing in the gap and making a difference in the lives of others.
